Mario Batali: Still on Food Network?

By JULIETTE ROSSANT Is he, or isn't he? Or, is a just another case of any news is good news? Mario Batali may -- or may not -- be on the Food Network this fall. The story broke last week when the New York Post reported that Mario was being replaced on Iron Chef America and that none of his TV shows was being renewed (see "Mario Dumps Iron Chef for Gwyneth Paltrow"). Mario told the NY Post in a follow up story: "I'm taping 'Iron Chef America' next week." That may be true, since the Food Network retorted that he would be off the show (except for specials) in November. As for Mario's other shows, none of them is being produced anymore, but they can still air in reruns. Did the NY Post get it wrong? Well, not really. Did all parties get publicity? You betcha.
