If you're after Media in the State of California, you know you're doing well when your visit outshines the Dalai Lama's. That's what The Los Angeles Times pronounced in a headline about the visit of England's Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla.

Newspaper after newspaper in the U.S. (see below) covered the royal couple's tour of the area, including the Edible Schoolyard of Alice Waters.

Meanwhile, foreign newswires like Reuters and the BBC. The Prince has announced a "Business and the Environment Program":
Prince Charles speaking, from Getty Charles warned that while technology could help ease environmental problems it alone would not be enough to solve such issues.
"History suggests that attempting to re-engineer our planet is fraught with danger," Charles said, adding that "simple solutions" such as energy efficiency, organic farming and pollution prevention are usually the most sustainable.
Charles called for economic growth that is not achieved at the expense of "natural capital."
"This means accepting the concept of natural limits in a resource-constrained world," he said.
The prince called on the United States to use its power and influence to shape a global agenda of "environmental stewardship and a market economy reshaped to deliver it." (Reuters)
Seems like Americans are letting these statements just slide by, focusing on the superficial rather than the substantial. Might have been nice to see, for example, Alice make a statement in support of the Prince. Well, there was at least one American news medium that caught the import of the Prince's visit: The San Francisco Examiner.
