Cristeta Comerford Feeds Prince Charles

By JULIETTE ROSSANT

Prince Charles and Camilla

Wednesday, November 2, marks Cristeta Comerford's first big public gig as executive chef of the White House: lunch and dinner for HRH Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, early into their first official visit together to the United States. Of course, Cris has had years of practice in serving heads of state and royals, including a May 2003 state dinner for the president of the Philippines and a July 2005 dinner for the prime minister of India.

It looks like Prince Charles is up for the full gamut of Media coverage, from an indifferent UK Guardian whose headline reads "Royal tour by two 'earnest eccentrics' leaves US unmoved " and The Australian's " Charles and Camilla a big bore in US" to the extremist PETA, which MSNBC says is "growling" over their visit.

In San Francisco, Charles and Camilla will also stop by Chez Panisse to break bread with Alice Waters (recently profiled in TIME Magazine), a fellow Slow Food member (see previous article).

The schedule for their tour is available online at the BBC.

Recently, reports PhilippineNews.com, Cris herself was the guest of honor, as members of the Filipino-American community saluted their most famous fellow, hosted by the Ambassador of the Philippines, His Excellency Albert del Rosario, who was joined by the National Federation of Filipino-American Associations (NaFFAA).
