Bobby Flay: Married and Motivated

By JULIETTE ROSSANT

Bobby Flay on Wickedly PerfectBobby Flay is flying high in 2005. He revved up by opening a second edition of Mesa Grill in Las Vegas last October. He burst out of the starting gate in January 2005 as part of the regular line-up on the Food Network's Iron Chef America, the successful remake of the Japanese original Iron Chef which he helped to make famous in the States, after a failed first remake Iron Chef USA bombed. He continued in January with an appearance on CBS' Reality TV show Wickedly Perfect. His most recent Iron Chef America contest pitted him against Table 8's Govind Armstrong, a protegee of Wolfgang Puck and Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger. Throttle open, he scoots out a new restaurant concept, "Bar Americain," next month, March 2005, back in New York City.

That leaves our boy on TV reguarly now with the CBS Early Show, CBS's Wickedly Perfect, the Food Network's Iron Chef America -- not to mention a Food Network special about his Vegas restaurant called "Bobby's Vegas Gamble."

Bobby Flay and Stephanie MarchAnd just to make the month complete, he married Law & Order: SVU's Stephanie March. The Boston Globe noted that Todd English, who was in attendance, is "becoming quite the wedding guest." (Todd is a pal of Bobby's and has appeared on Food Nation, with Bobby Flay -- possible source of inspiration for Todd's new show Food Trip, with Todd English.) The event was celebrated at Daniel Boulud's eponymous restaurant. Not one to sit at home, "Mrs. Flay" is appearing in three movies due out this year.

Now, if Bobby would only link his products website with his personal website, he might pick up some extra cash and really give Emeril a run for his money.
