Charlie Palmer Ties as Washington's No. 1 Steakhouse

By JULIETTE ROSSANT

Charlie PalmerWashington Post food editor Tom Sietsma ranked Charlie Palmer Steak along with Ray's the Steaks as his favorite steakhouses in Washington, DC, in a fun article which recommended one restaurant for every week of the year (aka Sietsma's annual top 50+2 restaurants).

"Washington has plenty of respectable steakhouses, for example, but if I'm paying for the pleasure myself, Charlie Palmer Steak on Capitol Hill or Ray's the Steaks in Arlington is probably where I'll end up," he wrote.

Meanwhile, the Bush and Kerry menus continue just a few more days... CPS/WDC executive chef Bryan Voltaggio wrote in for Charlie Palmer's Fall email newsletter, "Around this time of year people in this town are always taking sides. Lucky for me, I just make 'em." The "Salute to Bush" is a Southwestern themed three-course prix fixe, featuring a Chipotle Marinated Grilled Hanger Steak. The "Salute to Kerry" is New England-themed and features Sweet New England Little Neck Clams. Price for either is $20.04 -- now there are two things I'll miss when the elections are over.
