Contributing Correspondents (various locations) Superchefblog now has openings for contributing correspondents in the U.S. and all over the world.
Positions are unpaid but offer exposure for Food, Business, and Celebrity writers before thousands of readers each month in return for contribution of one article (maximum 500 words) on a minimum bimonthly or monthly (depending on location).
Exposure Let's spell that out clearly what we mean by "exposure": in addition to our growing number of visitors, superchefblog will grant you (1) a byline (2) hyperlinked to your masthead listing which (3) is further linked to a website or webpage of your choosing.
(Just do a search on Google or Yahoo! for something super chef-related and see just how high superchefblog appears in the results.)
Furthermore, should you ever stop contributing to superchefblog, your stories will remain online, while your details will be moved to an "alumni" masthead, with continued hyperlinks and dates of your service to superchefblog: we expect to be proud of our alumni!
Content In terms of content, superchefblog is adding a new column, "Local Heroes," so that all contributors have a specific, ongoing section to contribute to. A local hero is a local "super chef" (see definition), a chef with the potential or on the cusp of expanding beyond one geographic area and with many other super chef ingredients. As an example, Barbara Lynch (a Todd English protegee) just started up catering in Boston, her base, in addition to three restaurants: she needs to be covered -- locally. There are chefs like this across America and around the world.
In addition, superchefblog will be looking for more "Cookbook Reviews," currently at a rate of one review each Wednesday but expandable. Feature stories and "Humor" are always of interest. Significant contributions to super chef, "Chef Profile," or "Food Television" stories will receive a "with" byline, as long as you are already fulfilling your main duty. And your own suggestions are welcome.
How to apply? Send an email to "jobs[at]superchefblog.com" which states your location and interests, along with text-only writing samples in the body of your email message or hyperlinks to online writing samples. Please be sure to read over superchefblog articles to familiarize yourself with content and style.
Top metropolitan locations sought include: New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle; Montreal, Vancouver; Mexico City; Bogota, Caracas, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro; London, Paris, Madrid or Barcelona, Milan or Rome, Moscow; Istanbul, Beirut, Dubai; Casablanca, Cairo, Johannesburg; New Delhi, Bombay; Jakarta; Manila; Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong; Tokyo; Seoul; Sydney. Hi,
I am a culinary consultant and author of 12 cookbooks and am from Singapore. On of the things I noticed in my career is that there are very few South Indian lady celebrity chefs. Most people from this ethnic group feel that only males should be chef. I have broken this barrier!! The next thing I want to do is to appear in a cooking show in Europe or America with chefs from that part of the world. I have millions (OK I am exaggerating) of experiences and tips from Asia to share with the other part of the world.
